Dr. Aaron Taylor

Dr. Aaron Taylor has been a professional archaeologist in Nova Scotia for over 15 years and has led excavations on both historical and pre-contact sites across Canada, as well as in Europe, and Cuba, including excavations at the Grand Pré UNESCO World Heritage site. Before pursuing his ultimate passion of archaeology, Aaron worked as a social worker for over 10 years. Despite his extensive research on maritime environments and marine archaeology, Aaron only recently became a certified diver in preparation for his work on The Death Coast of Nova Scotia. As a member of Captain Jeff’s crew, Aaron serves as the team’s resident field archaeologist and as the de facto local expert in Nova Scotia history and archaeology. Outside of his work on The Death Coast, Aaron has appeared on The Curse of Oak Island as an archaeologist and is an instructor at Acadia University in the History Department, as well as a faculty member in the Anthropology Department at Saint Mary’s University.
